Fire water tanks
Polyethylene tanks as sources of fire water
Polyethylene fire water tanks are dedicated to fire extinguishing equipment and installations such as intermediate tanks or water reserve tanks and water tanks used as supplementary water sources for external fire extinguishing. Uponor non-pressure fire water tanks are used as a standard as underground storage tanks.
The offer of Uponor Infra includes the tanks in the internal diameter range from 2000 mm to 3000 mm and any volumes adapted to individual needs of the Clients.

Advantages of fire water tanks
- Double walls and welded joints guarantee 100% leak-free operation and long-term durability
- Foundation in difficult soil and water conditions possible
- Installation in roads and underneath car parks
- Total resistance to corrosion and high resistance to chemicals
- Long storage with no loss of parameters (UV resistant)
- Low weight, quick and easy assembly (also in winter conditions)
- Any equipment (depending on applications)
- The tanks can be combined with batteries of any capacities
Fire water tanks for fire extinguishing equipment and installation
Operating principle
The tank is supplied with water from a water supply system or network through a float valve, which regulates the water level in the tank. The valve is installed in the chimney so as to use the full active capacity of the tank. Water is supplied from the tank through the suction pipeline / pipelines. In the suction chambers there are suction baskets equipped with non-return valves.
In the case of tanks supplying fire-fighting pumping stations, water is taken from the tank through suction pipelines with foot valves and anti-vortex plates. It is possible to discharge excess water to the sewage system through the installed overflow pipeline.
