At the end of last year the new day-care centre called Launonen was
introduced in town of Loppi. The new day-care centre has two parts, the
old day-care centre and new expansion part. The design project was
decided in the competition that won architects Adalbert Aapola and Jakko
Kettunen from agency called Ajak Oy. Their design was called the
Circus.
Beside the new expansion the old heating system was renovated. Now
the whole day-care centre is heated with geothermal system with ten
drill holes and 210 meters of pipe. The old system, oil heating, has
been preserved just in case.
The day-care centre has been built on old single family house area
which has no storm water system. Therefore there had to take into
account especially the storm water handling and suitable solution for
it. The solution was storm water cassettes from Uponor. All the storm
water from the roof of the building and also from the parking lot are
leaded to the system. All together 90 cassettes were needed to handle
the estimated amount of storm water.
The HEPAC technician of the town of Loppi, Pasi Träff, was
interested on the new way of handling the storm water. – Uponor
performed all the required tests in the location and discovered that the
conditions were good and the ground water is low enough to affect the
cassette system. Now when the installation is ready there is only a
parking lot with working storm water system.
