In a beautiful country-side, near Montevarchi, in the heart of Tuscany, installer Sandro Menga decided to renovate a rural house for his family to live in, using different Uponor solutions to better suit the demands of building.

Being an expert in the field, Mr. Menga decided to use three different Uponor solutions in order to make the best of both Uponor technology and the internal spaces of this renovated home.

Uponor Minitec and Uponor Pre-formated Black were installed on the ground floor, which holds a living room, a bathroom and pantry.

The largest and most important parte of the house if on the main floor which holds the bedrooms and the family room.

For this floor, they decides to install Uponor Gypsum, the Uponor solution for ceiling heating and cooling

Weber Hill Villas

The Weber Hill Villas are comprised of 24 attached and detached single-family homes nestled along a quiet forest with lot sizes ranging from one-quarter to one acre. These LEED® and Energy Star® homes are ADA-compliant and built to withstand 250-mph, wind-blown debris. With a top-of-the-line design in mind, the team at Dale Hicks and Associates, LLC chose Uponor PEX piping systems for the plumbing and fire safety — a brand they have relied on for years.

“Uponor Construction Services designed the system, and we simply installed their design,” said Dale Hicks of Dale Hicks and Associates, LLC. “They have been of immeasurable service to us. I refer Uponor PEX to colleagues all the time.”

All 24 homes in the development feature Uponor AquaPEX® plumbing systems and AquaSAFE™ fire sprinkler systems with ProPEX® fittings in ½" to 1½" sizes. The multipurpose fire sprinkler systems seamlessly integrate into the home’s cold-water plumbing system, which increases the speed of installation and provides homeowners with greater peace of mind.

“Weber Hill Villas is just our latest development, and we will apply a lifetime of work, knowledge and innovation to make it truly world class,” explained Hicks.

Jesse Faust, a former Madison firefighter and EMT, sustained partial paralysis after a severe car accident in 2022. During the construction of his new home, Faust prioritized fire safety, and after seeing how commercial buildings benefit from sprinkler systems, he chose to incorporate a residential solution with Uponor AquaSAFE™ — a multipurpose PEX piping system that combined with his home’s AquaPEX® plumbing.

Underfloor heating and cooling for comfortable living in a summer cottage house

The new summer cottage house in Suolahti, Äänekoski, is using floor heating and cooling controlled by an Uponor Smatrix Pulse control system. The heat source will be a NIBE geothermal heat pump. Six housing companies located in the Hurttivuori district in Turku have a joint heating plant – Nokikana Oy. The terraced houses, which were built between 1975 and 1977, contain a total of 104 flats. Heating and water are supplied to all flats by a joint heating plant. Renovating the piping system became a necessity due to leaks. The plant's insulated elements were renovated in such a way that all residents were able to live in their homes for the entire duration of the renovation.

The biological treatment plant is worth its price
