A 100-year, leak-free service for the Oregon irrigation district

A U.S. irrigation district with a rich agricultural history has chosen Weholite to ensure that the district’s valuable water supply will conserve every ounce of water intended for use and remain safe and leak-free.

Ease of installation is key

Weholite pipes are light and easy to install. They really come into their own in a project in the harbour of Auckland, the largest city in New Zealand – the extension of an old stormwater line using massivepipes with an internal diameter of 3–3.5 metres. In this busy harbour area, it is not possible to carry outlarge-scale excavation work. The soil of the region and strong tides pose their own challenges.

Water supply in very demanding terrain in Norway

The global mineral fertiliser, industrial chemicals and environmental products supplier Yara of Norway renewed the water supply to its factory in Glomfjord, close to the Arctic Circle in the north of Norway, with 1.8 kilometres of PE1,000mm pressure pipe. Extremely demanding terrain, limited infrastructure and the most stringent safety requirements demanded exceptional expertise and planning.

Andfjord Salmon AS, a Norwegian fish farming company, has the ambition to create a sustainable, environmentally and fish-friendly onshore facility – with the smallest possible footprint. This patented facility combines the best from both traditional ocean net-pens and land-based salmon farming. The intake and outfall lines are built with highly durable Weholite PE pipes and panels with a 100-year life span.
