In Elverum's municipality in Norway, one of the largest building projects for the municipality was carried out in 2017. The project included a new care building on 4 floors with an area of 9000 m2 and a reconstruction of an existing building of 6000 m2. The plan was for all aftercare to be housed under one roof with emergency 24-hour and short-term places for discharged patients from the hospital, as well as a rehabilitation ward, a wellness center and the possibility of physiotherapy.
The customer's biggest challenges were to renovate an old building that would now contain new technology spaces and to build a new building containing ventilation for both the new and old building. After establishing contact with Uponor Infra, the choice fell on Uponor's ground-level ventilation, which could be specially designed according to the buildings' design, thus saving space in both the old and the new building, which could be used in other ways.
The delivery to Elverums Helsehus included pipes and fittings in dimensions 400-1200 mm and 6 combi towers in dimensions 2000 mm. Uponor Infra Project Services was responsible for the field service in the form of welding of pipes, parts and ventilation towers at the workplace.
